J.C. Watts to Address SRLC 2010
The Southern Republican Leadership Conference announced today that J.C. Watts will join the speaker lineup to address more than 3,000 attendees at the convention in April.
“The Republicans have the plan that will put this country back onto a path of fiscal sanity and regulatory restraint that will help sustain the greatness of America,” Watts said. “The Southern Republican Leadership Conference is an important opportunity for us to shape the vision and articulate the ideas for our party and our country that will lead us to victory in 2010, 2012 and beyond.”
J.C. Watts served as a Congressman from Oklahoma’s Fourth Congressional District for four terms. After, Watts was appointed by President Bush to the Board of Visitors for the U.S. Military Academy. He later created a lobbying and consulting firm, J.C. Watts Companies, located in Washington, D.C. where he fights for the causes he championed in Congress. He wrote an autobiography, worked as a columnist for several publications, became a member of the board of directors for several corporations and served as the chairman of GOPAC.
“We are honored to host J.C. Watts at the Southern Republican Leadership Conference,” SRLC President and CEO Charlie Davis said. “He is an effective leader who has continued to fight for conservatism even after his successful Congressional career.”

For Immediate Release: (225) 753-3549
March 25, 2010
While we are sorry that Gov. Pawlenty will not be able to attend this year’s SRLC, he made the right decision staying home to greet our men and women in uniform as they return from defending our country overseas.
That said, we are very excited about the upcoming Southern Republican Leadership Conference. This is going to be the largest SRLC ever, as Republican activists from all over America come together and get energized for the 2010 elections. At this critical time in our nation’s political history, it can’t come soon enough.
We are looking forward to welcoming you all to the Crescent City where we will hear from Governor Bobby Jindal, Sarah Palin, Newt Gingrich, Haley Barbour, Andrew Breitbart, Liz Cheney, and many other top leaders and experts. We look forward to hosting you at Taste of Louisiana – where Sean Hannity will be broadcasting LIVE. And we look forward to throwing you a New Orleans style bash Saturday night at Gala…featuring the famous Big Easy Band Rebirth Brass Band.
Laissez les REPUBLICAN temps rouler!!!

President Barack Obama hosted his bipartisan summit on health care reform yesterday at the Blair House in Washington, D.C. Here, the Republicans finally had a chance, albeit brief, to state their own ideas for incremental health care reform and express their disapproval for the progressives’ plans of a government takeover of medicine.
While the Democrats in Congress and in the White House cling to the tired rhetoric of calling the GOP the “Party of No,” leaders from the Republican Party courageously confronted the President with their own ideas, many of which have been presented as legislation in the past year. They reminded the president that while they do not support a government takeover of health care, they do believe that reforming the industry would drive down costs and increase access to millions of Americans.
According to Governor Bobby Jindal (R-LA), a confirmed speaker at the Southern Republican Leadership Conference, there are many conservative reforms that would benefit millions of American patients and those who care for them. Here are just a few:
- Instituting tort reform that would protect doctors from frivolous lawsuits that increase the costs for all patients everywhere.
- Allowing for the purchase of health insurance across state lines, encouraging competition and lower rates for everyone.
- Offering tax relief so patients can purchase their own health insurance.
And about that whole not having any bills thing? Just to name a few…
Bill after bill, speech after speech, the status quo remains. Republicans continue to put forth their proven methods of instituting meaningful health care reform. But somehow, things just stay the same.
Governor Sarah Palin (R-AK), also a confirmed speaker for the Southern Republican Leadership Conference, argues that despite the clever PR maneuver by the White House, they still aren’t listening: Americans don’t want a government takeover of health care.
“The President can perfume this proposal however he wants, but it still doesn’t pass the smell test. Washington should listen to Americans now, or Washington will hear us in November,” Governor Palin said in a note on Facebook.
Indeed, 2010 and 2012 will prove to be fruitful years for the GOP. Together, we can stop a government takeover of health care by electing strong Republicans who will fight for us in Congress and in the White House. We have an extraordinary opportunity to take back our country and return it to the principles that made us great: free markets and free people. We invite you to be a part of it. The road to 2010 begins in New Orleans.
The Southern Republican Leadership Conference announced today that the David All Group and act.ivi.st will be the Official Sponsor of “Blogger Row.”
“It is increasingly important for the GOP and conservatives to take advantage of innovative tools and potential for online engagement this cycle. SRLC is just the beginning,” said David All, President of the David All Group. “I strongly believe that bloggers have an undeniable role in shaping the political debate and we are proud to sponsor the SRLC Bloggers Row.”
David All, known by many as the “Tech Republican,” has helped to revolutionize the use of direct media for organizations, corporations, and political entities throughout the nation. His company launched act.ivi.st this year to help campaigns harness the power of the Internet by better engaging its online supporters.
“We are excited to have the David All Group and act.iv.ist as the official SRLC Blogger Row sponsor,” SRLC President and CEO, Charlie Davis said. “David understands how important it is to empower conservative voices to share ideas across the Web. It is certain that he will continue to shape the conservative political landscape for years to come,” said Davis.

Andrew Breitbart, a leading conservative online publisher and commentator, will address activists, political leaders and strategists at the 2010 Southern Republican Leadership Conference in New Orleans this April.
“I am honored to have the opportunity to speak at SRLC,” Breitbart said. “The conservative movement is at a crucial point. The public today is very receptive to our message of smaller government and fiscal responsibility. To convince the people that it will live up to those ideals, the Republican Party has to take full advantage of the potential of new media, blogs and independent on-line journalism, to cut through the blatantly left-of-center, pro-Democratic party agenda of the mainstream media. SRLC will offer attendees the ability to do just that.”
“Andrew Breitbart has been a pioneer in the online conservative movement,” SRLC President and CEO Charlie Davis said. “We look forward to him sharing his insight, perspective and expertise that will help Republicans achieve their comeback in 2010 and 2012.”
Breitbart is the publisher of several popular news and investigative journalism sites, including Big Government, Big Journalism, Big Hollywood and Breitbart.
