We are very excited to welcome you to New Orleans, Louisiana for the Southern Republican Leadership Conference in three weeks! To help you prepare for your trip on April 8-11, we want to provide you with the most up-to-date conference information.

As you know, the Southern Republican Leadership Conference is the most prominent Republican event outside of the Republican National Convention, and we are thrilled that you will be a part of it. As a delegate, you will be able to interact with top Republican activists, donors, candidates and elected officials during three days of training, briefings, receptions and speeches from the leaders of the Republican Party.

Speakers this year include Haley Barbour, Newt Gingrich, Bobby Jindal, Sarah Palin, Tim Pawlenty, Mike Pence, Rick Santorum and many more. By participating in the SRLC, you will also get to take part in the nationally recognized straw poll, which signals the unofficial kickoff of the presidential campaign season.


Where will the conference events take place?

Most conference events will take place at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside, our host hotel, located just steps from the famous French Quarter.

How do I get to the Hilton New Orleans Riverside?

From the west: Follow Interstate-10 to Downtown/East/Slidell, exiting at Poydras St. (Note: Exit ramp is on left). Continue onto Poydras St. south, and follow to its end at the hotel’s front circle drive entrance.

From the east: Follow Interstate-10 Downtown/West, exiting at Canal St./Superdome. Follow signage to Superdome/Poydras St., turning left onto Poydras St. Follow Poydras south to its end at the hotel’s front circle drive entrance.

The hotel is 13 miles, or 25 minutes, from the New Orleans International (Moisant Field or MSY) Airport. Take Interstate-10 Downtown/East/Slidell, exiting at Poydras St. (Note: Exit ramp is on left). Turn right onto Poydras St., following Poydras south to its end at the hotel’s front circle drive entrance.

I am not staying at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside–Will there be transportation between the host hotel and the other surrounding hotels?

When should I arrive at the conference?

You should arrive at the conference before 3:30 pm on Thursday, April 8, in order to take advantage of all the scheduled events. The opening session begins at 6:30pm. To take advantage of the shortest lines, plan to arrive between 12:00 pm and 2:00 pm.

Where do I check-in for the SRLC? Do I need to provide identification?

Registration will occur at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside from Thursday, April 8 through Saturday, April 10:

Thursday, April 8: 9:00am- 9:00pm – HEC Ballrooms B & C (second floor of hotel)

Friday, April 9: 8:00am- 9:00pm – HEC Prefunction (second floor of hotel)

Saturday, April 10: 8:00am- 1:00pm – HEC Prefunction (second floor of hotel)

Bring a photo ID with you to receive your credentials. While not required, you may bring your confirmation number to assist in the registration process.

Do I need a special ticket or badge to access SRLC events?

The SRLC is a credentialed event. Credentials may be picked up on site during registration. Please keep your credentials with you while attending events. DO NOT LOSE YOUR CREDENTIALS, as you will not be able to enter events without them.

I would like to bring someone with me who has not registered—is there on-site registration for individual events?

If you would like to bring a child with you to an event, any lap child can come in without a credential.

Credentials may be available for onsite purchase. Please call the SRLC office at (225) 753-3549 to check availability closer to the date of the event.

I would like to change my registration level—is that still possible?

If you would like to upgrade your registration, call (225) 753-3549. We are sold out of General Access passes, but limited numbers of VIP passes are still available. Tickets are non-refundable.

$699 – VIP Registration
Register as a VIP and get access to VIP-only events, receptions and a special VIP lounge during the conference. Includes complete access to all general sessions with major speakers, the breakout sessions, the exhibit hall and the straw poll. Enjoy great food and hospitality at the Taste of Louisiana Party on Friday night, our Saturday night Gala, as well as a VIP brunch on Friday and Saturday. Space is limited.

What is the dress code for the conference sessions?

Appropriate attire includes business and business casual for brunches, breakout sessions, the General Session and the Taste of Louisiana Welcome Event on Friday night. Business and cocktail attire is appropriate for the Gala on Saturday evening.

Can I enter a general session or breakout panel if it has already begun?

SRLC 2010 volunteers will be available to assist delegates with entrance into events.

Will I be able to meet speakers and panelists?

There will be numerous opportunities throughout the conference to interact with our speakers and panelists. For those attendees holding VIP tickets, there will be special events providing unique access to speakers and panelists.

May I take photographs during sessions and panels?

Personal photography is welcome in the SRLC events. There will also be a large media presence at the conference, with several national news organizations broadcasting live.


Which ticket-holders may attend the Gala?

Those attendees holding general, full, and VIP access passes may attend the Gala. The partial access pass does not include entrance to the Gala.

What is the attire for the Gala?

Conference attendees should wear business and cocktail attire to the Gala on Saturday, April 10. This includes suits and ties for men, and dresses or evening suits for women.

Will there be any speakers at the Gala?

While many notable guests will be present at the Gala, it is not a speaking event. We will be announcing the results of the straw poll during the event.

Will there be food and drink at the Gala?

The Gala will include complimentary juice and soda, a cash bar, and a large array of food.

Will hotel-to-hotel transportation run after the Gala?

The shuttles running between the Gala location and the host hotel will continue to run until 9:45pm.


Can you recommend nearby places to eat?

There are many restaurants located close to our host hotel and surrounding conference village. Several of these hotels are offering special reservations and deals for conference attendees. On Thursday, April 8, there will be no dinner event, so please take advantage of these great offers.
